Sheriff BJ Barnes with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday, October 27, at 0924 hours two suspects were arrested following a residential breaking and entering at 4600 Johnson Street in Colfax.

Alonzo Leroy Smith, 24 of 1037 Brookline Street, Winston Salem, NC and Derrick Jose Ward, 21 of 2436 Sink Street, Winston Salem were apprehended while attempting to flee the area following the break-in. Both suspects were charged with one count of felony breaking and entering. Both suspects are currently being held in the High Point Jail. Derrick Jose Ward is under a $4,000.00 bond and Alonzo Leroy Smith is being held under a $5,000.00 bond.
